25 years ago in early October the Normal Theater marquee was re-lit, the theater having been fully restored back to its Art Moderne glory by the Town of Normal. The first film to show that weekend was the classic movie musical SINGIN' IN THE RAIN. We hope you can join us in re-visiting this Gene Kelly & Debbie Reynolds favorite as we kick off another 25 years in Uptown Normal. A spoof of the turmoil that afflicted the movie industry in the late 1920s when movies went from silent to sound. When two silent movie stars - Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont - have their latest movie made into a musical, a chorus girl is brought in to dub Lina's speaking and singing.
